Independent Funeral Plans

With an Independent Way Funeral Plan your payments are paid into the Golden Charter Trust which is run by an independent Board of Trustees – separate from Golden Charter.

There are many advantages: your funeral plan is tailored to your wishes; you pay at today’s costs, and no matter how long before required, the Funeral Director’s services are guaranteed at no extra cost. The plan also usually includes a contribution towards disbursements (cremation fee, doctors, minister etc). You may plan your funeral in as much (or as little) detail as you wish – type of coffin, limousine, music etc. Whatever you choose, you can rest in the knowledge that your wishes will be carried out – and provided your requirements remain unchanged and the disbursements are covered, your loved ones will not be asked for a penny more. Once your plan has been paid for, you can, of course add to or amend your requirements.

The plan may be paid for in full, by cheque or card, or by instalments over 12 months with no interest. If you wish to pay over a longer period of time, provided you meet certain criteria, this may also be arranged, and we will advise you of costs. In time, all applications will be made digitally – we will work through this with you – but it is designed to protect you and will make things much more secure for you.
